C-22 // Linocut

I've been meaning to have a go at doing a linocut print for a while now and I finally got around to it in the weekend. I found that I really enjoyed the process. I did a couple of duds to begin with while I got the hang of the tools, but linocut #3 turned out ok...

I only have black printing ink at the moment, but am now itching for some colours! On the other hand – maybe it's better to spend time just seeing what you can do with black and white before adding too many variables?

In any case, I'll be doing a lot more of this.

Hey thanks Geoff! :-)

Great idea about the Christmas cards!

A couple of people have mentioned the pacific thing. It's funny – I was just making geometric patterns but the pacific flavour came out unconsciously. Cool how that happens. :-)

takes me back to intermediate days... of course, the scraper was less of an art tool and more of an implement of war back then

Ah... intermediate. 16 years ago for you. 26 years ago for me... It's a wonder I can still remember that far back!
