C-4 // album cover - work in progress

This is an illustration I've been working on today for a client's album cover. The concept is one of a difficult voyage through addiction, but with the end/destination in sight.

I'll probably ease back on the grunge elements in the final version, but for now I just love 'em!

Leave me some feedback. Does this image work for you? Have I gone overboard on the grunge elements? :-)

looks awesome man ,,, I love grunge so no I dont think so. Looks well worn and classic.

If you shoved a big "ASIA" logo on it in a white and yellow font it could be right out of 1983.

Choice one

I was gonna say that there's a funny mark in the bottom left-hand corner...but it turns out my screen just needed cleaning :D

Anyways, love it. Would have to see where the title/words (if any) where going to go and what font/type style blah you'd be using before giving it all five stars. But what you've got so far is pretty darn awesome.

I like how there's a couple of paler streaks on the boat, like it's wet.

Hm. But yeah, I am kinda going off the idea that you're going float words of some kind in the sky. If not, I'm thinking maybe it's a bit sparse?
I do like the grunge elements. Keep those :)

1983. I was two. Those were the days...

Thanks for the feedback peoples!

The client seems to like the grunge too, so it stays. :-) He's also keen on floaty words.

When I work on the typographic elements I'll post it again so you can see the progress/final result.

Incidentally Huggies, the pale streaks on the boat were just worn bits on the photograph of timber I used to build the boat with. (It was actually a photograph of an old dock). I didn't think about it as looking wet, but yeah, I see what you mean. :-)
