The Cattlestops ride again!

I have had a busy but very enjoyable weekend playing with The Cattlestops - a 5 piece band (acoustic gat, electric gat, bass, drums, fiddle) playing a range of styles from Western Swing to Bluegrass to Country Rock. We played in Wanganui on Friday to a booked-out Lake View bar and restaurant, on Saturday to a booked-out Wellington Bluegrass Society crowd and on Sunday to an almost booked out Winemaker's Daughter in Te Horo. All three gigs went really well and we had a huge amount of fun!

Here's a poster I put together a few weeks ago for the Saturday night Bluegrass Society gig.

It's blue grass. Get it? Bluegrass!

Hehehe, sorry I am in a very silly mood. And it's been ages since I stopped by, so here I am. Hi Evan! :)

Hi Huggies! He he... Yeah, it's not exactly subtle is it?
Great to hear from you. How have you been?

Oh yeah, bit of this bit of that, bit of up bit of down......nothing earth-shattering. I love dodging questions :) Can you tell?

I was at a party last night, and spent the whole time answering people who said "how are you?" with the response: "I am toast".

Often they'd respond with: "so....are you like bread, or is it that you're in trouble or something?".

I'd say: "No". And then: "Do you like custard?"

It was delightful :) Interestingly, most people responded very positively to the custard question, volunteering their favourite memories of the dish and what it ought to be served with to best effect. I anticipate a temporary local surge of custard making and enjoyment. You can thank me later.
